Double Fault - Short Film

Feb. 2020

“Double Fault” is a short action film I worked on with Liz Richman and Freddy John James, to use in their professional stunt/acting reel.

The story was written by Liz’s friend Ashley Alexandra Love, and we filmed it in a parking garage in Eagle Rock, LA.

Directed by: Keaton Punch

Any good fight scene requires careful planning and choreography with everyone involved. Before our official filming day, we went out to the park to film a pre-visualization. This is where we take the time to practice and improve on all the stunts we want to show in the fight.

For safety, stunt people will usually leave space in between their hits rather than actually making contact with their partner. Because of this, it’s important to position the camera in a way not to show that space so the hits look believable.

Having the camera move during a fight scene is just as important as the actors’ movements. Planning out intentional camera moves can emphasize significant moments and keep the action feeling exciting.

Since we were so prepared, we managed to film this whole production in just a few hours and with a very small team!
