This project was a collaboration with Mark Corum, director of media services at Hall Ambulance, in bringing his script and creative vision to reality!
The concept was built around the phrase “Don’t just watch the action-put yourself in the middle of it”, and follows the hero’s journey as he is recruited for the Hall EMT Academy.

It took us three days to capture all the scenes we had planned, with day one starting at H & S Body Works & Towing. I staged the aftermath of a car accident, with the ambulance and paramedics taking action in the scene.
On day two we got to film inside the historic Bakersfield Fox theater! I strategically framed the shots to be a bit tight, and spread out the extras to cover a wide area to make it seem like the theater was full of people. Then I set up my projector and screen to give that subtle light flicker on everyone’s faces.
For the final day I captured a variety of moments in the classroom at the EMT academy, and plenty of shots of our star in action outside the classroom.
