High Voltage Arcade - Music Video
Jun. 2022
This music video may be my most wholesome and feelgood production I’ve created in years. The local band, High Voltage Arcade, shared their upcoming synth-rock song with me, and inspiration struck me in the form of this nostalgia fueled story.
I spent a couple months preparing for it, and we created a precious video at an iconic location.

Thanks to all the support and a highly positive response, our music video for “High Voltage Arcade” was recognized and awarded “Video of the Year” at the 2023 Bakersfield Music Awards.
Since this project had so many different scenes, key moments, and various locations, I made a storyboard to help organize and clearly share my vision with everyone else involved. I used free 3D software called Storyboarder. I even went as far as recreating the entire arcade in 3D!
The bedroom was an important part of the story in making our main character feel real and relatable. I set deigned this spare room at my dad’s home to look like an eclectic children’s room from the early 2000’s. I used a ton of my personal childhood toys, décor, and printed a variety of posters to cover the walls with.
All the moving bike riding shots were captured from the hatchback of my own car! It’s certainly not the safest way to film these shots, but we kept speeds slow and the results turned out incredible. Try at your own risk!
Before beginning months of work and planning, I wanted to see if it was even possible for us to film our music video in the arcade at Camelot Park in Bakersfield, CA. I took a chance at sent a formal email to Camelot Park, and after weeks of negotiating, they accepted my offer! It was such a cool experience having exclusive access to the arcade, especially now knowing that Camelot Park no longer exists there.
