This was the first time I tried making myself look like a giant for one of my photo projects. I wanted to use a recognizable area for the setting around me, so I took the background photo in downtown Bakersfield.
I went up to the top of the parking garage next to the Padre Hotel to take advantage of the high up perspective. Fortunately there was overcast lighting, which made editing all my shadows much easier.

When I saw how well the photo did on Instagram, I decided to enter it into the 2018 Kern County Fair Photography competition. My photo ended up winning ribbons for “Best of Show”, “Best of Division”, “1st Place in Special Effects”, and “Sweepstakes” winner!
After taking the photo of the street, I quickly took several different pose photos of myself to give me plenty of options in editing. I also kept my camera pointed in approximately the same direction/angle from the street photo, to make lighting and perspective match even closer between the two main photos.
